A memorable Halloween display doesn’t require a garage full of props. A few well-placed pieces make the biggest impact.
Start with a focal point
Pick one statement piece visible from the street — a hanging ghost from a porch beam or a tree branch, or a large inflatable in a front window.
Add motion and light
Swinging and light-up ghosts look great after dark. Remote-controlled models let you switch modes or turn them off without climbing a ladder.
Frame the entry
A seasonal door mat and garden flag tie the porch together and welcome trick-or-treaters.
Safety first
- Anchor hanging and inflatable décor so it can’t blow into walkways
- Keep paths clear and well lit for visitors
- Bring décor inside during high winds or storms
- Check battery compartments and keep spare batteries away from children
Store it right
After the season, remove batteries, dry everything thoroughly and store in a labeled bin — or a weatherproof deck box.
